Sony's Concord Sold Only 25,000 Copies, Analysts Said

This counts sales of both PC and PS5.

Sony’s newly launched FPS Concord has reportedly sold a mere 25,000 copies, with an estimated 10,000 copies on Steam and 15,000 on PlayStation.

This is according to analyst Simon Carless, who told IGN about this a bit earlier. The game has been released for nearly ten days, while the concurrent players failed to exceed 700, the all-time peak that was achieved on the day following the release day. As of this article's release, the current number of players in this game is 119 on Steam, and the 24-hour peak is 120 players.

What do players who purchase the game for $40 and play it say about it? At this moment, the reviews are mixed, with 66%, nearly 500 players, enjoying it. Those who like it call it a qualified hero shooter that is fun and polished, with “nice graphics and satisfying gameplay;” many also enjoy the unique character designs and great differences between each of them.

The negative reviews mention factors like not being worth the price, a lack of creative and fun gameplay, and boring modes and maps. The game made itself outstanding for a $40 charge. When most games of a similar genre are free to play, naturally, players have a higher expectation for things that they spend money on. This can be proved by comments like, "If it doesn't go free to play, it will be dead in a month," "It's a mix of overwatch/paladins with Tf2, All three of those games are free," and "In the Hero Shooter market, there's better, free options available." That's to say, if the game is launched as free-to-play, the chance is that we will see a more descent debut.
