If you're feeling anxious or need a moment to relax, take a look at this ambient nature animation showcased by the talented Environment Artist Dragan Jordanov, also known as Nagard_.
The clip might appear like real-life camera footage, but it was crafted using Unreal Engine 5. The setup depicts the turbulent state of the weather, probably before a thunderstorm, but despite this, the scene looks calming and soothing – due to the light flutter of leaves or a mild summer wind that is warm even before heavy rains. According to the artist, the animation was inspired by Ghost of Tsushima, action-adventure game set in feudal Japan that features picturesque landscapes.
To create the artwork, Dragan Jordanov utilized Maya, SpeedTree, Substance 3D, and Photoshop. The creator shared that the leaf visualization was made using the Niagara particle leaf system with custom leaf material, and the wind effect was crafted with SpeedTree. The artist shared the details of the artwork on Reddit and ArtStation.
