Spider-Verse-Style 3D Animation Made With Substance 3D Painter

Crack open a cold one and take a look at Emma Siret's amazing 2D-looking 3D project.

Check out Time For Beers, a cool-looking 3D animation in the style of the Spider-Verse movies, brought to life by CG Artist Emma Siret as part of her two-week internship program at Digital Banana.

Made in collaboration with Pierre-Marie Bavay, the animation combines stylized rendering with a painted normal workflow, allowing the artist to achieve a recognizable 2D-like visual appearance in 3D. As for the software, Emma employed Maya, Substance 3D Painter, and Redshift to tackle the modeling, texturing, and rendering tasks. Attached below are some of the behind-the-scenes shots shared by the artist, we highly encourage you to visit Emma's LinkedIn and Instagram pages to check out her earlier works:

Previously, Game Developer and Technical Artist Pedro Borges also paid tribute to the Spider-Verse universe, expertly replicating the art style from the animated movies in Unreal Engine 5.

And prior to that, 3D Artist Paulo Granados Villaverde showcased a Spider-Verse-inspired glitchy visual effect made to practice post-process workflows.
