Steam Leak Reveals Achievements for Unreleased and Unannounced Games

A significant leak from Steam has surfaced achievement lists for many unreleased games, several of them highly anticipated, and others that haven't been announced yet.
The leak was noticed by Exophase, a site that tracks achievements across Steam, Epic Games Store, and other platforms. The site detected that the achievement lists for different in-development games were temporarily accessible through the Steam API.
"Seems like a possible screw-up on Valve’s end, a bunch of games with achievements that should be private are accessible through the API right now, and that’s why they got scanned into the site," said Mike Bendel, also known as x3sphere, in a ResetEra post.
Bendel, the owner of Exophase, also mentioned that he usually never sees games without an actual name shown with achievements, but over the past hour or so, various games like that appeared, suggesting some of the exposed titles may be unannounced or even canceled.
Many of the leaked lists reportedly use placeholder text and appear incomplete, but others are said to include spoilers for games like Kingdom Hearts 4.
This isn't the first time Steam data has leaked this year. In August, a security breach exposed 12 TB of information tied to unreleased games and prototypes spanning 2003 to 2013.
