A small indie team from Russia is working on an interesting roguelike game.
There’s a lot of great pixel art coming from Russia and Ukraine nowadays. You’ve got Punch Club, Bunker, Megasphere, The Final Station, Fuzeboy. A lot of them are being published by Tiny Build and this company is to be hailed for their support of this quirky type of projects. So, if you’re looking for a new exciting pixel art project from Russia, you’re in luck. Here’s Stoneshard.
Stoneshard is a roguelike dungeon crawler. You play as a brave adventurer, who traverses the dark dungeons, kills skeletons, gathers loot and dies a lot. But, there’s actually more to it, than meets the eye.
Have a look at these features:
• Everything is procedural. Global map, locations, events, potions and some items are generated during each new walkthrough.
• Global Map. You don’t just go down the dungeons, but you also travel across the global map as a part of your own caravan!
• Caravan. Yeah, so you’ll have to develop your caravan, find new allies, solve conflicts and gather followers.
• Survival. Skeletons are not the only things that kill you. There’s also hunger, thirst, intoxication, pain, injuries, fear and insanity. Sounds a lot like Darkest Dungeon.
There are some clever tricks with RPG systems, combat, permadeth and other elements of the genre. A lot of good things are happening with this game.
You can follow the development process on the dev blog. These guys are making great progress and we really hope this game is going to be a nice present for the fans of the genre.
