Stop Killing Games Campaign Is Launching Official NGO
The movement is getting stronger in the EU.
Stop Killing Games
Stop Killing Games, an initiative fighting to prevent developers and publishers from making games unavailable for players, is less vicious now but is still working to achieve its goal under Ross Scott's leadership.
2026 has been rather eventful for the organization, and one of the most crucial steps in its campaign is the plan to open a formal NGO, which will help with long-term counter-lobbying, coordinated action, legal pressure, and global expansion.
Despite companies and governments resisting, Scott is confident that Stop Killing Games will ultimately win. The campaigners will have a meeting with the EU Commission soon, and the outcome will be important for the initiative and the whole industry.
The issue reportedly has majority support in Parliament, and if everything goes according to plan, we might be able to play discontinued games after game companies sever their support, at least in the EU.
This is extremely important because developers shut down their games more often than ever now, without letting those who bought them continue playing, which sounds like (and is) a huge scam. Stop Killing Games might make history if its efforts succeed, so stay tuned.
