Capcom has some great news to share: Street Fighter 6 has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. According to its press release, the data was provided on January 3, so it took the game 7 months to achieve this result as SF6 was released on June 2, 2023.
500,000 of those millions were reached in the last 3 months because the title reported 2.47 million units sold by the end of September. As expected, the sales are calming down: Street Fighter 6 reached the 2 million mark just a month after its release.
In May, Capcom's president Haruhiro Tsujimoto said he expected the game to sell 10 million copies, although he didn't specify when it would be reached. 3 million is a great achievement proven not only by the numbers but also by the players' and critics' high opinions of the game:
"Street Fighter 6 has received critical acclaim and was recognized as the year’s top fighting game, winning the Best Fighting Game Award at The Game Awards 2023, one of the largest award ceremonies globally, which recognizes the annual achievements of video games and their creators through a blended vote of international media outlets and game fans," Capcom said in the recent press release.
