Finnish mobile game development company Supercell, best known for its mobile titles Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale, is currently working on a new game for PC.
In December 2021, the Finnish company announced it was searching for a studio that develops games for PC or console, and now the newly-formed developer Channel37 revealed it has partnered with Supercell to create a new yet-announced PC title.
Channel37 is a Helsinki-based studio that was founded at the end of 2021 by a group of Finnish game developers whose experience includes working in such studios as Ubisoft RedLynx, Mind Echoes, and Second Order. It comprises CEO and co-founder Miika Aulio and co-founders Vesa Halonen, Antti Ilvessuo, Sami Saarinen, and Diego Sarmentero.
"At the end of 2021, an idea was formed to bring together a group of experienced people to craft something different, something that stands the test of time," the studio's blog post reads. "Our values matched perfectly with Supercell, and we joined forces."
"We are super excited to back up such an experienced and creative team. We believe that the best teams make the best games, and Channel 37 fits that description," said Supercell's investments lead Jaakko Harlas.
Supercell previously supported a number of game studios including Trailmix, Space Ape Games, and Oxalis Games. However, this will be the first company's investment in an exclusively-PC title.
