Tachyon Flow Parkour Game Adds New Fluid Spin Moves
Kaia also got new hairstyles and outfits.
Since early this year, we've been following Tachyon Flow by JankyAnims, a third-person parkour runner where you play as Kaia, running, jumping, and freely navigating each course. What began as an experiment in visualizing movement animations has evolved into something that consistently turns heads whenever the developer shares new footage online.
The latest clip showcases new spinning momentum, once again drawing plenty of attention. "Just another quick one since a few ppl saw I was still using the placeholder pole launch anims," commented JankyAnims. This update follows a pause in development while the developer focused on other commitments and rebuilt the controller system from scratch to make it cleaner and smoother for a proper game.
"Anyway, I also reworked a few mechanics that contrasted too much with each other. I originally really wanted methodical and weighty feeling platforming, but it just kind of slowed sections down, where you probably just want to keep going fast. So, things like swing bars are now just an immediate swing off instead of having all the extra stuff like endless swing, timing release, switching direction, idling, stuff like that.
There's a BUNCH more cool stuff I'm not showing yet, but for this short vid, I was testing out combining the reworked swing with some new pole mechanics, and seeing how I might chain them together into an interesting run."
Since we last saw her, Kaia has had a bit of a style refresh as well:
The developer has also started work on actual environments for the game. The idea is to build a mix of areas, including futuristic zones and more brutalist, concrete-jungle-style spaces.
