Andrew Burnes, Johnny Costello, and Kelsey Blanton from NVIDIA shared a detailed guide on how to enhance your textures with ray-tracing technology.

With the update of Bedrock Minecraft, gamers and artists get an opportunity to build new immersive scenes. The update also gave us PBR textures in the Minecraft world.

In this guide, Andrew Burnes, Johnny Costello, and Kelsey Blanton from NVIDIA will explain and demonstrate all possibilities of this update in creating your own Minecraft PBR textures or enhancing the existing ones. The article covers:

  • Minecraft Texturing Overview
  • Asset Flow
  • How to work with new PBR texture maps with examples
  • A step-by-step process of creating  the base color and various texture files

The guide also introduces alternative ways of creating PBR textures, using Photoshop and Substance by Adobe.

If you want to learn how to convert your world, check this guide.

This project includes assets, maps, materials, Blueprints, and effects created in the Unreal Engine. Each asset was created for realistic AAA quality visuals, style, and budget.
