The Blood of Dawnwalker Sold Over 1 Million Copies Worldwide
What do you think about this game?
The open-world RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker, developed by Rebel Wolves, launched on September 3, 2026, and it has been very well received since the first day of release. On September 5, the studio announced on Twitter that the game had surpassed 1 million copies sold.
Some of the aspects people loved the most about the game are the human-by-day and vampire-by-night structure, the writing and memorable characters, and the combat system — elements we've been covering since the game's announcement.
Back in January 2025, we shared the first gameplay footage that the developers revealed, and it showed the pivotal moment that sets the game's main story in motion.
We also talked about how Daniel Sadowski, the Design Director, spoke about the time-as-resource mechanic of the game. One of the core elements is that the protagonist has 30 days and 30 nights to save his family, but time doesn't move constantly.
"It [time system] moves only when you do the content (such as a quest or task), because we do not want the time system to be there to rush the player or to stress them out. We want the time system to be part of the narrative experience, and part of the whole 'both action and inaction have consequences' [approach]."
The game is full of interactions and choices: the information you learn throughout your quests can shape those choices, and your decisions can open or close future opportunities. You'll even have to decide carefully whether other characters become allies — or food.
We had the chance to play the game before its release, and you can read David Jagneaux's detailed review here. The game is available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
