Mistfall Hunter, Bellring Games' big new dark fantasy PvPvE extraction RPG, officially launches tonight on July 29 at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET (July 30 at 01:00 UTC), bringing its blend of Souls-inspired melee combat, Arc Raiders-like extraction mechanics, class-based progression, and cross-platform multiplayer gameplay to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also expected to be available on Game Pass for both PC and Xbox.

If the name sounds familiar, that's because we previously covered the game after its reveal. Since then, I've even been able to take it for a spin myself and found the comparison to Soulslike RPGs and extraction games like Arc Raiders even more fitting. Typical match flow involves spawning into the map, fighting enemies, looting, and trying not to get taken out by other players, all before extracting back to the base camp. It flows well and feels great.

Players can tackle the world solo or squad up with friends, choosing from multiple character classes that can be customized through weapons, talents, and equipment builds.

The official launch also introduces a substantial amount of new content, including the Withered Knight's new Polearm & Shield weapon style, Holy Weapons that dramatically alter skill behavior, a brand-new map, the first seasonal rewards, ranked system improvements, and numerous balance updates based on community feedback from previous tests.

Players won't be able to preload the game, however. Downloads begin when servers go live tonight, and Bellring Games is launching with regional servers across the United States, Germany, Brazil, Singapore, and China, alongside full cross-platform matchmaking between supported platforms.

Personally, I plan on spending a good chunk of time with the game on PS5. It's a blend of genres and styles I've been waiting for someone to get right, and Mistfall Hunter seems to be the best attempt yet.

The Standard Edition launches at $24.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs $39.99, with a 10% launch discount available for roughly the first two weeks after release. Players can also upgrade from the Standard Edition to the Deluxe Edition later if they choose.
