The Witcher Developer CD PROJEKT RED Partners with Blizzard
The Witcher 3 Remastered will be released on Battle.net, and a Geralt-inspired skin comes to one of Blizzard's games.
There's more in store for The Witcher fans: beyond releasing the upcoming remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game's developer, CD PROJEKT RED, has partnered with Blizzard, with the remaster and the Songs of the Past DLC planned to launch on Battle.net, alongside a Geralt-inspired skin coming to Diablo IV.
In more detail, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, a renewed version of the game that will be free for existing owners, will be released on Blizzard's Battle.net on September 29, 2026, simultaneously with other platforms. The Witcher 3's DLC Songs of the Past will also be presented on the store in 2027.
CDPR's Expert Community and Social Media Manager noted that bringing the studio's games to Battle.net is "just the beginning of [the] partnership with Blizzard." Another part of the collaboration is that a Geralt-themed skin will appear in Diablo IV. The skin will become available once pre-purchase opens for the Songs of the Past expansion on Battle.net, and will remain accessible to anyone who buys it, whether during pre-purchase or after the expansion's full launch next year.
More details about the skin and the studios' collaboration in general will be revealed at BlizzCon 2026, taking place on September 12 and 13 in Anaheim, California.
Both studios have more surprises planned for fans of CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard, with further announcements expected soon.
It's interesting that this isn't the first time CD PROJEKT RED and Blizzard have collaborated. Back in 1998, CD PROJEKT was Blizzard Entertainment's official distributor in Poland, and CDPR's Global PR Director noted that there's something "beautifully circular" about these moments.
The Witcher 3's DLC, titled Songs of the Past, is set to release in 2027 and will reportedly feature more of Gwent. As for The Witcher 4, the game isn't expected until 2028, and CDPR also plans to release a new trilogy within 6 years.
