This Artist Has "Accidentally" Made a Great Adaptive Subdivision Setup in Blender

The system correctly blends the UVs and can be easily subdivided even further.

Jesse Miettinen, a legendary Blender magician and master of proceduralism, has once again wowed the digital art community by revealing a clever adaptive subdivision setup, discovered "accidentally" while exploring Geometry Nodes to develop his own add-on for tearing digital cloth in Blender.

As explained by the creator, the setup is "recursive and leaves no vertex hanging by itself," though it does make some triangle mistakes here and there – something Jesse is now working to fix. He added that the subdivision can easily be made even more granular and that the system correctly blends the UVs and attributes. Moreover, Jesse mentioned that he might consider making the setup commercially available sometime this Fall, sparking hope that it could soon be possible to try it out firsthand.

Recently, Jesse also impressed us with his outstanding take on Apple's liquid glass design:

And an upgraded version of his Smudge Mask Generator:
