Anyway, check out these recreations from talented artists.
Apple
At WWDC25, Apple introduced Liquid Glass, a new semi-transparent design, which internet users found suspiciously similar to 2007's Windows Vista. This "innovation" quickly led to piles of mocking X/Twitter posts, but one of them hit harder than others.
Jon Yongfook, the creator of the Bannerbear image generator and other tools not connected to Apple, successfully trolled people with a post saying Apple fired him after the questionable design was shipped.
"Me and my design team have spent the last 18 months tirelessly testing different levels of gaussian blur on backgrounds when foreground elements are in focus," he said. "If you are looking for experts in the blur, glass liquid, grass or fur UI space, lmk."
Some outlets, however, didn't understand his joke and took it at face value, writing articles about Apple laying off the designer.
Oh well, at least he got a couple moments of fame. But let's go back to the Liquid Glass design. After the reveal, several artists tried to recreate the effect, and they all did it quite well.
The renowned Blender creator Jesse Miettinen also presented his Apple parody with a glass-like interface for his favorite software.
Check out his other projects as well, like this point-based destruction and the smudge mask generator.
