This Construction Game Gives Your Character a Black Eye If You Bonk Your Head
Autonomica features some unusual gameplay mechanics.
The developer of an upcoming survival automation game Autonomica shared a glimpse of a very realistic gameplay feature: when a character hits their head, they end up with a "nasty black eye."
Previously, the devs showed another unusual mechanic of the game, where cutting one tree turned into automatic deforestation, and the character doesn't need to chop each of them:
Autonomica is set in an alternate 1980s destabilized by temporal experiments. In that bizarre world, biological resources become chemical reagents, reagents become machines, and machines restore the world. The gameplay includes building supply chains where farming fuels chemistry and mining drives manufacturing.
Players grow crops, manage organic outputs, and process biological materials using extractors, mixers, refiners, storage, and conveyors. Progress comes from unlocking new technologies across several stations: the Drafting Station automates construction, power, and mechanical systems; the Botanical Station advances crop, animal, and enclosure tech; and the Cooking Station processes natural goods into valuable food products.

Construction in Autonomica is entirely modular and shaped by the player. Every structure, whether it's a simple cottage, a sleek greenhouse, or a massive automation hub built into a mountainside, starts from your custom design.
You can play solo or co-op and share the experience of building bases, automating supply chains, and capturing night Phantoms with your friends.
