This Fascinating Scene Was Created with MagicaVoxel

Mari "MadMaraca" is a very talented Voxel Artist who creates scenes that, at first glance, you'd never guess they are made out of cubes. She shared a video on Twitter/X featuring screenshots showing the progress of a project, and the final result is beautiful.

In the replies, Mari explained that it was made with MagicaVoxel, which is a free GPU-based voxel art editor and interactive path tracing renderer that allows you to manipulate voxels and add texture and color to your projects.

In the past, we interviewed Mari to learn how she made the Funkazan scene and about her journey as a Voxel Artist. She mentioned that, for her, voxel art is a fun way to experiment with creativity and create objects, environments, and even games with extreme detail.

We also featured a floating mining site that she made in 2025.

Mari "MadMaraca" is an artist who always shows comparisons of the starting point and final result of her projects, and those are very satisfying to watch because you can see all the details that were added to the scene.
