A$AP BERG showcased a mesmerizing shader and shared the node tree behind it.
2D/3D Illustrator and Animator known online as A$AP BERG has recently shared a couple of demos showcasing Sage Orb, a spectacular shader set up in Blender, an open-source 3D software for modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX.
Complete with an appealing parallax effect, the shader works with both Eevee and Cycles and draws inspiration from the visual effect for the Slow Orb ability, belonging to the character Sage from Riot Games' free-to-play first-person shooter Valorant. According to the creator, the shader is currently WIP and will be further improved and refined further down the line.
Attached below is the node graph behind the shader. The author acknowledges that it appears somewhat messy at this stage but assures that it will be shared again once everything is organized. We highly encourage you to follow A$AP BERG on Twitter so as not to miss any future updates:
Notably, this is not the first of the artist's Valorant-inspired projects. Previously, A$AP BERG also created a number of character rigs for Blender based on the game's agents. You can download them for free via the author's Gumroad page.
