This Mod Allows You to Play the Original Fallout Game on Nintendo 3DS

What a nostalgic vibe.

The Fallout franchise has seen a resurgence lately, particularly after the launch of Amazon's Fallout series in April. A good proof is that it led to a notable increase in Fallout 76's concurrent Steam users, peaking at nearly 40k and with daily players multiplying by up to six times in under two months.

Naturally, both new and seasoned players would be inclined to explore the history of the franchise. The original Fallout game, Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, released nearly 27 years ago, is still available for purchase for $10 on Steam, and can be played without much difficulty. However, the games have never been officially released on consoles.

Now, fans have taken matters into their own hands, porting the first game in the series to more platforms. A modder named MrHuu managed to port the original Fallout to the Nintendo 3DS. Reddit user Loopuze1 shared how it looks and plays on the platform:

"I’ve had the first fallout for years, but it’s always ran too crappy on my pc and I never get far, but this awesome 3ds port is running great(even if it is a little clunky having to cycle between left and right click with L button). Just have to install it, copy over files from your original, legally purchased copy and you’re good to go. Figured this community might appreciate how cool this is!"
