This Unreal Engine 5-Powered Uncharted Game Is Something You Want to Play but Can't

MachineGames' Level Designer Daniel Arriaga showed off his original adventure in Uncharted: For Old Times' Sake.

Naughty Dog's Uncharted series has been around for 15 years already, but have you ever imagined what it would look like powered by new technologies? Daniel Arriaga, MachineGames' Level Designer who previously worked for Ubisoft, presented his version of the game made in Unreal Engine 5.

Uncharted: For Old Times' Sake is an original adventure featuring platforming, stealth, combat, vehicles, and cinematic cutscenes. Arriaga has been working on it alone using third-party assets, but it looks like something you'd like to play.

"Adrenaline-fueled infiltration with platforming, shootouts, tanks, fast snowmobiles... and even an AVALANCHE!. What started with just a level design teaser has grown into a full fledged chapter with multiple playstyle areas, set pieces and my own hand-animated cutscenes with facial mocap."

However, you won't be able to experience it first-hand because the creator won't ever publicly release it, so the story will stay on his computer, and we'll have to enjoy it on his YouTube channel.

And there is a lot to admire. UE5's powerful tools ensure the game's good looks and engaging interactions, all activated by Arriaga's talent, of course. If you like that trailer above, be sure to check out the whole walkthrough:

Arriaga has worked on Assassin's Creed Valhalla and is now busy with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a single-player adventure that will be released later this year for PC and Xbox Series. Some reports say it will also appear on PS5.
