ThunderCats' Panthro Motion Capture Experiment in MetaHuman

Creature Supervisor at Ghost VFX Madhav Shyam demonstrated a great facial motion capture test done with a model of ThunderCats' character Panthro. The artist used Epic Games' MetaHuman and blessed Panthro with precise movements.

The model of the character was created by another talented artist, Niyazi Selimoğlu, and 3D Scan Store, according to Shyam. Rendering was done in Marmoset Toolbag.

"Here’s a quick little Metahuman test I did with Panthro. Maybe it’s time we get that thunder cats movie going eh?" he said on Instagram.

In 2021, it was announced that Warner Bros. has started working on a live-action ThunderCats film with Adam Wingard as a director. 

Such a fantastic result is not surprising: Shyam has previously shown us his masterful work in a series of experiments with MetaHuman Animator.
