Fans speculate she's what we'll see in the next game.
The Tomb Raider website has celebrated Lara Croft's birthday (and the release of the remaster series) by posting new art portraying the protagonist in a fresh way.
Some fans decided that this is what she would look like in the next game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Amazon Games. However, there isn't any proof this will be the case, although the image is "hidden" in the logo on the site together with other, more familiar, versions, so we'll have to see.
The new style has been received well enough, but some players note Lara's "bland" look that strips her of individuality. She seems "generic" to a portion of the audience, and someone even saw Tom Cruise in her features.
We don't know much about the next Tomb Raider game other than the fact it will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. In September, Lara appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, voiced by Keeley Hawes. Her model was quite different from the one we're used to seeing, so the new picture was a relief for some fans.
