Game developer LittleWreath demonstrated a cool shooting prediction system they are working on for their Zoids game in Unreal Engine 5.
The enemies aim at the character after making some calculations, but you can get away from their line of sight. Here's how LittleWreath describes it (machine-translated):
"The player’s position is recorded every frame, interpolating a slightly earlier position with time. From there, changes in direction and speed are calculated, adjusting so that it curves outward during turns and lags slightly during sudden acceleration."
The enemies shoot with precision, so you'll have to dodge to get away if you don't want to be damaged.
