Upcoming Breaking Changes Planned For Unity 6.5

Android support has been bumped to version 26, with the legacy Render Graph compiler removed, among other updates.

Now that Unity 6.3 LTS is out and Unity 6.4 is in beta, you may be interested in the breaking changes developers are planning for Unity 6.5.

The list isn't complete yet, but it's worth keeping an eye on as updates are added. Current highlights include:

  • Removal of the legacy Render Graph compiler;
  • Minimum supported Android API raised to Android 26;
  • Decoupling Android Navigation Bar from fullscreen state.

Additionally, Entities.ForEach and Aspects will be removed, along with the VR Module, which was already marked as obsolete in Unity 6.3 and will be fully removed in Unity 6.5.

If you're curious about what's coming next or just want a rundown of the team's recent work, you can watch the Unity Engine Roadmap session from Unite 2025:
