Astrologers proclaim a week of cleaning.
Valve
Valve is not known for fan communication, so the news of massive bot bans in Team Fortress 2 comes from players themselves. In the past few days, they reported a wave of bans for cheaters and bots – a huge problem in the game.
Fans of the shooter say that the "unlawful" individuals have received emails from Valve stating that "accounts dedicated to the disruption of TF2 have been deactivated."
Two years ago, Valve broke its silence and promised to work on the issue, and it might become a spring-cleaning campaign if we're lucky, although I wouldn't count on it. At the beginning of June, Team Fortress 2 reviews on Steam took a dive under fans' dissatisfaction over the bot problem, and I want to believe that the company listened to them.
This ban wave seemingly resulted in a surge of (hopefully) real players, which many people count as a confirmation that removing cheaters leads to better engagement. It looks like the #SaveTF2 movement might have influenced the developers or at least built bonds between fans.
Let's pray Valve will not abandon its cleaning efforts any time soon. Join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Reddit, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
