Microsoft introduced its Copilot, a set of AI-powered tools, 2 years ago, and it's been trying to include it in as many users' workflows as possible since, even going as far as releasing keyboards with a key assigned to the feature.
Not surprisingly, many people were not happy to have Copilot on their computers, especially since it has a function that takes screenshots of everything all the time. If you're one of them, rejoice! A new update to Windows has a bug that uninstalls the AI tool and unpins it from the taskbar.
As reported by Windows Latest, if you get the March 2025 security update, you might not find Copilot in your system. The bug affects Windows 11 24H2, Windows 11 23H2 and 22H2, and Windows 10 22H2/21H2.
Microsoft knows about the issue and is working on it.
"We're aware of an issue with the Microsoft Copilot app affecting some devices. The app is unintentionally uninstalled and unpinned from the taskbar. Microsoft is working on a resolution to address this issue. In the meantime, affected users can reinstall the app from the Microsoft Store and manually pin it to the taskbar," the company said.
The new update has caused other problems for users. Windows Latest has seen reports of the security patch failing on Windows 11 24H2 systems, a connection bug in the remote desktop, SSD crashes, and the famed Blue Screen of Death.
