José Mauro Lobão shared a sneak peek at the upcoming Houdini-powered foam generator.
José Mauro Lobão, a Senior VFX Artist and experienced Houdini Instructor at UNHIDE School, has recently shared a sneak peek at the work-in-progress procedural animated foam generation tool being created with Houdini, a procedural 3D software developed by SideFX.
Currently at its earliest stages of development, the upcoming tool would allow one to create lifelike animated foam, with the creator noting that it is designed to be used "across multiple shots, emphasizing ease of control for the Art Director". According to the author, the procedural tool utilizes "soap bubble thin-film" to render the bubbles and was created "without sim".
José also considers making the tool available for download once it is 100% complete. We highly encourage you to follow the artist's LinkedIn page so as not to miss any future updates.
