You Won't See A Weirder Or More Disturbing Creature Today
Say hi to Pearl.
Sometimes, a design crosses the line from impressive to genuinely unsettling, and the discomfort becomes part of the appeal. This is Pearl, a creature from the upcoming third-person puzzle adventure called Unseal. It's got a bit of an All Tomorrows and SOMA vibe, really weird, but really well made.
Yingxue Li, who created it, also shared a full timelapse of the entire process, from blockout to textures:
In Unseal, you play as Ash, a charred figure with a caged head and a fractured past. You'll have to explore a surreal nightmare shaped by your own memories, solve unsettling puzzles, and avoid the grotesque creatures that hunt you.
Climb up objects and ladders, hang and swing across traps, and grab, throw, and use things around you. You can also activate a special detection ability to spot hidden items, key clues, and paths that aren't immediately visible. As you go deeper, you'll even unlock different outfits to customize your look.
Unseal is being developed by a two-person team, Yingxue Li and Youdhistir Baral, and there's already a first devlog out if you're interested:
