It's always a delight to see talented Digital Artists push their favorite 3D programs to their limits and produce marvelous results that, at first glance, don't even look 3D. One such artwork was recently unveiled by Virendra "CGDASH" Kumar, a well-known Blender NPR Artist, who set up an impressive 2D-looking 3D animation using the renowned open-source 3D software.
Dubbed simply "EGG", the artist's new anime-style short animation uses the Solidify Modifier for the stunning outlines and, as noted by the creator, employs the "shader to RGB method" for cel-shading. Moreover, Virendra also noted that the entire project took only around 3-4 hours to complete from start to finish.
The author also shared a couple of node graphs, offering a closer look at how the bowl and the egg were made:

In the future, the artist also plans to share a tutorial on how the egg animation was made, so we highly encourage you to check out Virendra "CGDASH" Kumar's Reddit and Twitter pages so as not to miss any future updates.
