Artist Shows 3D Stylized Mouse Character with Rigged POSCA Marker
JuanCarlos CR's new character looks like it could belong in an animated film.
JuanCarlos CR, a talented 3D artist whose amazing stylized characters from The Lion King, Robin Hood, and Toy Story, as well as original characters we have featured multiple times, impressed the audience once again with his new, stunning 3D work featuring a cool anthropomorphic mouse trying to draw with a POSCA marker.
The work is a personal project. The artist created and rigged it in Blender, reflecting the character's vibrant personality and paying attention to details like a pencil attached to the mouse's backpack with gum. It's remarkable that JuanCarlos CR rigged the acrylic marker itself, making the short scene of the animal artist activating it to make a first stroke more lifelike and witty.
The artist's work attracts attention with its diversity. For example, take a look at Peter Pan's shadow rig, Scar and Zazu from The Lion King, a cinematic scene with a match, a drummer cat, John from Robin Hood, and a scene with a girl choosing her morning coffee:
We had a chance to speak with the artist, discussing the production process behind his digital stop-motion animation project featuring Sid from Pixar's Toy Story:
