Automated Camera Matching Tool For Blender, 3ds Max & Maya
Perfect for anyone using real-world photos in 3D scenes and architectural visualisations.
Jamie Cardoso has released a script that automates 3D camera matching from a single photo with just one click, designed for 3ds Max, Blender, and Maya. While tools like Perspective Plotter exist for this purpose, they often require extensive manual adjustments to align the camera and view accurately.
This new script leverages advanced computer vision techniques like Hough Transform and RANSAC to detect vanishing points and lines in photographs and automatically generate perfectly aligned 3D cameras for scenes and architectural visualizations.
Camera Match automatically calculates and displays the true horizon line for easy visual reference. It creates fully configured physical cameras with accurate field of view, matches the render output to the background image resolution, and allows exporting cameras as FBX files for use in other software. It also automatically sets the viewport background with the image overlay, including vanishing point lines and the horizon, so you can see everything clearly while working.
