Can You Recognize This Iconic Scene In Wireframe?
ForbesVFX has recreated the entire sequence in Blender.
More than 30 years later, this scene from the original Jurassic Park is still just as tense. Did you guess it right? It's the iconic moment when the T. rex breaks out of its paddock during a tropical storm after the park's systems go down, smashes through the electric fence, and attacks the two tour jeeps.
ForbesVFX actually recreated the entire scene in Blender and shared a detailed breakdown of the process. In this video, he walks through everything, from filming on location to building the CG elements and compositing them into the raw footage:
"I really wanted to put my skills to the test and see if I could take on some of the same challenges the original artists faced when creating this masterpiece. While the original will always be king, I still think I gave it a damn good crack, and I’m really happy with how my version turned out."
People keep finding new ways to recreate Jurassic Park's most memorable moments, often with a unique twist, like the Dreams version of the same breakout scene, or a scientifically accurate take on the kitchen scene with the raptors:
