Cartoony 3D Facial Rig Created in Blender Using Geometry Nodes

Edward Ureña showcased a new WIP rig that resembles a certain Pumpkin King.

Take a look at this impressive cartoon-style 3D facial rig showcased recently by Edward Ureña, a talented 3D Generalist and the developer behind the Rig Creator add-on. Resembling the face of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, the rig was set up in Edward's go-to 3D software, Blender, with the help of its Geometry Nodes toolset. At the moment, the setup is WIP and undergoing its testing phase, so it's unclear whether this project will evolve into a new downloadable tool or remain a personal endeavor.

For those unfamiliar, the Rig Creator plug-in provides the user with a base rig, allowing you to position the bones to match the character's body and automatically apply weights. Currently in beta, the toolset features bone generators with default generators like Def Generator, FK, and Fingers, as well as an IK generator, and an intuitive and efficient list-based Constraint Panel. You can learn more and download Rig Creator here.

Recently, the add-on was used by Edward and 3D Character Artist Adriano Delfino to set up a stylized version of the iconic Mexican parody superhero El Chapulín Colorado (The Red Grasshopper) from the eponymous TV comedy series.
