Check Out an Awesome 2D-Like 3D Recreation of Kung Fu Panda's Tai Lung

Made by Angel Corona using Blender, Maya, and ZBrush.

Angel Corona, a 3D Artist and Modeler specializing in stylized character art, has paid tribute to one of the greatest animated movies of all time, presenting a marvelous 2D-looking 3D recreation of Kung Fu Panda's arguably most iconic antagonist – Tai Lung.

Based on Rayner Alencar's original illustration, the model boasts an impressive NPR appearance, achieved using the techniques Angel learned during an NPR course at Korogi Studio. As for the software, the creator employed a combination of Maya, ZBrush, and Blender to bring the painterly 2D concept into a 3D space.

And here's Rayner Alencar's original work the project is based on, see if you can spot the differences between the two versions:

We highly encourage you to visit Angel Corona's ArtStation page to see more of his stylized character models.
