Check Out How Indie Devs Made Dynamic Transition in This Gladiator Co-Op's Trailer
Chained Beasts features some edgy transitions.
Check out behind-the-scenes footage of the trailer for Chained Beats, an upcoming co-op gladiator roguelike, from developer and publisher Featherweight Games. After two years of development, the game launches October 15 on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Game Pass for Xbox and Windows PC.
The trailer shows dynamic transitions, and the creators chose to move the ground in the locations rather than move the camera. The game developer explained on Reddit that this created a more "harsh" angle than a camera would: "Otherwise the camera would have to change its angle quite suddenly."
Chained Beats puts players in the shoes of gladiators and lets them play with friends to test their teamwork in brutal battles. The co-op for 1-4 players will feature three arena chapters: Carthage, Germania, and Rome, where the most horrifying boss, Praefectus, backed by his Praetorian Guard, awaits the battle.
