Dave the Diver Goes 3D in Real VR Fishing Collaboration DLC
MINTROCKET and Devs United Games are bringing Dave the Diver into VR for the first time through a new collaboration DLC launching in June 2026.
MINTROCKET and Devs United Games have announced a new crossover DLC that brings Dave the Diver into virtual reality for the first time. Launching in June 2026, the collaboration will integrate the world of Dave the Diver into Real VR Fishing, allowing players to explore the Blue Hole in a fully immersive 3D environment.
The announcement positions the project as a meeting point between two very different design approaches: Dave the Diver’s stylized 2D hybrid gameplay and Real VR Fishing’s simulation-driven VR experience. The result is a reinterpretation of the former rather than a direct translation.
Originally released in 2023, Dave the Diver combines daytime underwater exploration with restaurant management systems, blending action, resource collection, and progression loops into a tightly structured experience. The game has sold over 8 million copies and received multiple awards, including a BAFTA for Game Design.
Bringing that world into VR introduces a different set of constraints and opportunities. Rather than recreating the full gameplay loop, the collaboration focuses specifically on the underwater setting, recontextualizing it within Real VR Fishing’s mechanics. This suggests a shift from multi-system gameplay to a more singular, presence-driven experience centered on immersion and environmental interaction.
Real VR Fishing has established itself as one of the more widely adopted VR simulation titles, with over 1 million copies sold and more than 1 billion minutes played globally. The game emphasizes realism, environmental fidelity, and a slower-paced interaction model across more than 100 locations and 400 fish species.
That foundation makes it a logical platform for bringing Dave the Diver’s ocean setting into VR. Instead of rebuilding a new VR system from scratch, the collaboration leverages an existing framework built around presence and spatial interaction.
From a production standpoint, this kind of collaboration can significantly reduce development overhead while still enabling meaningful expansion of an IP into new formats.
Details on specific gameplay features, content scope, and platform-specific implementations have not yet been fully revealed. The DLC is expected to launch across major VR platforms, with additional updates to be shared in the coming weeks.
