Kojima Productions has unveiled the first trailer for Death Stranding Isolations, an anime series set in the universe of the action-adventure game. It will launch exclusively on Disney+ in 2027.

The "all-new" animated series features an original story with a unique cast of characters. "My mom became a crater" is the anime's tagline. It tells the story of a young girl who lives in isolation in a world devastated by catastrophic explosions. At first, this loneliness was forced upon her, but as a result, she grew up preferring solitude and avoiding opportunities for real human connection.

The series is directed by Takayuki Sano, with series composition and screenplay by Tow Ubukata. The hand-drawn animation comes from the Japanese studio E&H Production, known for Ninja Kamui, Bullet/Bullet, and the Magic Knight Rayearth TV series.

Kojima Productions now works on two major projects, OD and PHYSINT. OD is a cinematic horror announced in 2023, starring Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer. The game will include a mechanic for scaredy-cats – an option to tone down the horrifying gameplay elements. PHYSINT is being developed in partnership with Xbox after Sony ended its collaboration on the project. The lead actor for PHYSINT is Bill Skarsgård, known for his roles in It, Nosferatu, and Barbarian. The game will also feature Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe, whose experimental CG was showcased before.

Kojima Productions unveiled a new visual for OD:

Hideo Kojima, along with Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers, and John C. McGinley, recently joined the voice cast of My Chemical Romance's new seven-minute stop-motion animated short, made with visual artist Lauren Tsai:
