Delicious Procedural Beans Made with Houdini

Senior FX artist Kevin Ryan has presented a project so well done that it will make you either salivate or gag, depending on your food preferences. Meet procedural beans – a delicious texture created with Houdini's Copernicus nodes.

"So years ago, I had a go of Substance Designer to try and get into procedural textures until I promptly got distracted with something or other," Ryan explained his choice of material. "However the latest release of Houdini (20.5) comes with a whole bunch of tools that are akin to Substance Designer, so I decided to have a go of recreating one of my favourite textures from back then...BAKED BEANS!"

He also made a wave "for some nice and gross undulations." If you'd like to take a closer look at the texture, Ryan shared a HIP file on Reddit.
