FromSoftware promises to implement two-player co-op in the future.
Despite not receiving the same level of praise from regular gamers and gaming journalists as the original Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC did back in the day, Elden Ring Nightreign continues to win over hearts and minds while delivering strong financial results, having broken yet another sales milestone.
FromSoftware
After celebrating 2 million units sold in less than 24 hours since launch, FromSoftware has now announced that Nightreign has sold 3.5 million copies in just five days, thanking the community for its support and enthusiasm. Considering the game's $40 base price and accounting for marketplace and distributor fees, it's fair to assume Nightreign has already raked in around $100 million – a more than impressive result for an experimental title to achieve within its first week.
In addition to announcing its latest financial milestone, the team also confirmed that beyond the DLC launching later this year, new features will be gradually added, including enhanced fights against existing Nightlords starting this month, as well as the long-awaited Duo Expeditions – which are already sort of accessible via a fan-made mod – arriving at a later date.
Speaking about the updates, earlier, FromSoftware also released patch 1.01.1 for Elden Ring's latest installment, introducing bug fixes, balance changes, an increased amount of runes earned when playing solo, and the ability to revive once per night boss battle – also exclusive to solo expeditions.
Thanks partially to these updates, and also to a growing number of players giving the game a shot, Nightreign's Steam rating has slightly increased from 65% positive to 73% at the time of writing – still the lowest of all FromSoftware games on the platform, but at least now listed as Mostly Positive instead of Mixed.
