Elden Ring-Style Fantasy Castle Made in Blender & Unreal

It took the artist only 4 days to finish the scene.

3D Environment Artist at Ubisoft Düsseldorf Mika Kuwilsky has demonstrated yet another fantastic scene made in Unreal Engine. This time, the artist has managed to create a small medieval town with strong Elden Ring vibes. According to Mika, this project was inspired by little towns and forts built on the slopes of small mountains which is why one of the main goals was to bring some sense of verticality into the scene.

The scene was made using Maya, Substance 3D Painter, Blender, and Unreal Engine. Additionally, the artist used tileable materials from Quixel to texture the objects, thus saving time. The Sky HDRI texture is from Poly Haven, a curated public asset library. You can learn more about the scene here.

Previously, Mika had created a stunning UE5-based gothic architecture modular kit inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. The kit looks absolutely gorgeous and, according to the author, can be used for multiple projects. We have already contacted the artist to learn more about the workflow behind it, the interview is to be published soon, so stay tuned if you want to learn more about Unreal Engine.
