Game Developer Explains How To Animate UI In Godot

In a new video, MrEliptik covers his best tips from Lexispell.

UI is often a confusing topic for many developers, since it's a full area of expertise in itself, and figuring out how to make it feel "juicy" is not an easy task. Lexispell, a roguelike from MrEliptik that has you spell out words for points with Balatro-style mechanics, features a pretty rich interface, and if you're a fellow Godot developer, the creator has now released a video explaining how it was built.

MrEliptik shared his best tips, including how he reuses animations and animates buttons, containers, and more. Are you just getting started with tweens in Godot? Christophe Marois has a guide for Godot 4.5 and higher covering the basics and advanced techniques.

EvilBunnyMan also released a handy library of tween animations for Godot:
