Insane Many-Faced Creature Animation Made for Pwnisher's Challenge
See the WIP shots by Mihajlo Ciric.
Pwnisher's new 3D challenge, DRÆM SEQUENCE, inspires some of the craziest artworks, like Mihajlo Ciric's "Litany For the Many-Faced Self," a bizarre animation featuring a creature with several faces and some slightly disturbing environments, pulsing with the beat.
"I've tried a bunch of different styles and looks, I'm happy with the current 3D render still a week or so to go before the final submission," he said. "I made this from scratch with #noAI models made and sculpted in Blender, and some in SideFX Houdini, textured with Substance Suite, and animated and rendered with Unreal Engine 5, post-processed in DaVinci Resolve."
The project took 100 hours of work over a couple of weeks already, and I am looking forward to the final result.
Meanwhile, check out Ciric's other projects on Instagram.
If you don't know what a Pwnisher challenge is, it's a 3D animation contest with awesome prizes. This time, the challenge is music-inspired, and contestants need to create an animation that visualizes the provided beat of 120 BPM by using the "on-beat keyframes."
