3D Artist Thomas Marcos, renowned for high-quality 3D creations, showcased this mesmerizing knitted flower and shared a new experiment with Blender's tools.
The artist built a procedural setup using traditional methods, but optimization led him to rethink his approach. By using new nodes, the artist managed to reduce memory usage from 60GB to 10GB of RAM with significantly faster performance.
Marcos shared that this knit setup refers to a bigger upcoming project. Before, the creator showcased a stunning large-scale scene crafted for the movie Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom, another piece with digital fabric, a free procedural cloud shader, a micro-scratched car paint surface, and a setup for smooth surface transitions:
