NVIDIA Shows Off DLSS 5 Graphics Improvements In Hogwarts Legacy

DLSS 5 expands beyond NBA 2K27 this November.

NVIDIA's controversial next-generation DLSS technology, which drew criticism from its first showcase for noticeably distorting the original artistic vision of games, is rolling out this month across several titles, including Hogwarts Legacy, War Thunder, and Where Winds Meet.

DLSS 5 is coming to Hogwarts Legacy on November 5, aiming to enhance lighting and material quality with DLSS 5's model controls to "boost environmental uplift while preserving character identity". NVIDIA released the official trailer, and interestingly, the upgrades look much more subtle than in footage circulating online after a leaked version of DLSS 5 was modded into various games. The effect is now so subtle that it's almost impossible to tell whether DLSS 5 is enabled without a side-by-side comparison, as many users have pointed out.

"With the addition of DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering to Hogwarts Legacy, our complete suite of DLSS technologies will now be supported, enabling you to accelerate and enhance your experiences in the wizarding world.

For an optimal experience, we also recommend enabling DLSS Super Resolution under 'Upscale Type', DLSS Multi Frame Generation under 'Frame Generation', NVIDIA Reflex under 'Low Latency Mode', and 'DLSS Ray Reconstruction' if you're also activating Hogwarts Legacy's immersive ray-traced effects.

Activating DLSS 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, 6X Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, NVIDIA Reflex, and ray tracing, sees max setting Hogwarts Legacy run at 4K at up to 300 frames per second on the GeForce RTX 5090, delivering the definitive Hogwarts Legacy PC experience."

Currently, official DLSS 5 support is limited to NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and RTX Spark systems.

War Thunder, the popular free-to-play military combat game, is set to receive DLSS 5 support in mid-November, introducing improved highlights and shadows, along with better lighting and atmosphere across its air, ground, and naval combat environments.

Meanwhile, Where Winds Meet, another popular free-to-play title inspired by the Wuxia genre, will also receive DLSS 5 support on November 23, bringing visual enhancements to its immersive open world.
