Fallout: New Vegas
Recently, Chris Avellone, Senior Designer on Fallout: New Vegas, spoke with TKs-Mantis about his time at Obsidian Entertainment and a variety of topics surrounding the Fallout franchise, including Amazon's TV adaptation. During the discussion, he shared several interesting insights, such as why fans shouldn't expect an Oblivion-style remaster of New Vegas, and also revealed that a potential Fallout: New Vegas 2 was actually considered.
"That's why all the nukes go off. Because I'm like, 'Well, I need to destabilize some regions.' Not wipe out factions, but I need to shake up both the Brotherhood, I need to shake up NCR, I need to have them even more at each other's throats in California," he explained, referring to the ending of the Lonesome Road DLC.
"And so that was the reason for some of the precursor decisions for some of the DLC stuff and some of the stuff in core New Vegas. When we still thought we'd be able to do a New Vegas 2, or whatever the title would be."
Obviously, this doesn't translate into any expectation of a New Vegas sequel, and Avellone made it clear that the idea is, at best, distant, saying it "will not happen in the next six years at least, if ever".

There have been rumors in the past that a New Vegas remaster is in development, although Avellone has previously expressed skepticism about the idea.
