Photorealistic Heads for Facial Rigs

Galal Mohey, Lead Character Artist at Snappers, has presented his latest photorealistic project. The artist and his team have used Arnold, Xgen, Ornatrix and ZBrush to create at outstanding male head for facial rigging tech demo. The results are something else! 

The purpose of this project was to create a generic male head for a Facial rigging tech demo at Snappers. 
I Worked on this with my friends: 

  • Yasser El-Sherbiny 
  • Abdelrahman Shebl 
  • Ahmed Salim

Still images was rendered using Arnold, ALshaders and hair using Xgen. 
We used Ornatrix for the hair cards in the Unreal Engine version. 
Details were sculpted manually in Zbrush and enhanced using TexturingXYZ tillable maps.
