Sony is reportedly gearing up for a PlayStation showcase next month, and rumors suggest Silent Hill 2 could be among the featured games at the event.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb claims he's heard on multiple occasions that either a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play is scheduled for May. He said:

"I have heard that there will be a PlayStation event, either a State of Play or a Showcase, next month, in May, so this is probably going to be there...I’ve heard both a Showcase and maybe State of Play. It seems like it might lean more towards a Showcase, it’s definitely in the same timeframe as last year’s Showcase."

Grubb anticipates that the Silent Hill 2 remake won't just make an appearance at the PlayStation event — it could potentially have its release date announced as well.

Given his accurate prediction of the 2023 PlayStation showcase date, Grubb is considered a reliable source. The 2023 showcase, held on May 24th, ran for over an hour and featured more than 30 games, including the announcement of new ones such as Helldivers 2.

Silent Hill 2 recently received ratings from ESRB following being rated in Korea, indicating that the development process could be nearing completion. If Grubb's information proves reliable again this year, we may not have to wait much longer for exciting news about the release date of Silent Hill 2.
