The expo might be in danger.
Sega and Tencent's Level Infinite division have reportedly joined the list of companies skipping E3 2023, following Nintendo, Xbox, Sony, and Ubisoft.
"After careful consideration, we have decided not to participate in E3 2023 as an exhibitor. We look forward to sharing more information on announced and unannounced projects in the future," Sega said in a statement to IGN.
The mass withdrawal of big companies from E3 is raising the question of whether the event will happen at all. Some publishing and PR people express concern about the status of the show and note a lack of communication from the ESA and ReedPop.
At this time, it is not entirely clear who we should expect to see at the exhibition. EA, Square Enix, Embracer Group, Activision Blizzard, Epic Games, Take-Two, and Warner Bros. Games haven't confirmed their attendance yet. Considering E3 is just two months away, this doesn't look very promising.
