Spline Mesher For Unity Just Got Updated
Mesh generation is fully rebuilt with Jobs and Burst for fast real-time editing, now with output splitting, unique fill mesh functionality, and a launch discount.
Jonathan van Immerzeel, better known as Staggart Creations, has revamped his Spline Mesher tool from a few years ago, now available as a Pro version. Spline Mesher Pro offers everything from the Standard version, but it's available as a separate asset.
Pro features include multithreaded mesh generation with real-time updates that are said to be up to 50 times faster. You can use spline fill mesh generation to easily create lakes, islands, platforms, and more. The generated mesh is split into segments for better culling and rendering performance at large scales. Procedural meshes can be used as input or as colliders, with Cube, Cylinder, or Plane options available. Mesh LOD support is also included, allowing you to generate LODs directly in the editor for Unity 6.2 and above, and collider features are expanded with support for Convex and Kinematic colliders, as well as collision and trigger events.
If you're new to Spline Mesher, it's a powerful tool for creating and shaping meshes along splines, perfect for world-building without external modeling. Designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, it's ideal for creating fences, pipes, paths, and many other structures.
