During the same interview, the designer also discussed how the team approached details and made sure the universe was rich enough. Howard says they wanted the players to be interested in what was written on each button on the computer.
At first, the studio didn't expect the game to be this big, but the game evolved over time and they realized that they needed more details. Bethesda didn't want Starfield to feel artificial so they had to spend a lot of time on little touches.
